Bio

Pianist and composer Ludovico Einaudi, born in Turin on November 23, 1955, began his musical journey early, influenced by his mother and training at the Conservatories of Turin and Milan, where he studied under notable composers like Luciano Berio and Karlheinz Stockhausen. His breakthrough came with the 1996 album Le Onde, which garnered widespread attention and was followed by successful works like Eden Roc (1999) and I Giorni (2001). Known for his cinematic scores and blend of classical and popular music, Einaudi’s work includes compositions for films such as Doctor Zhivago and This is England. His albums, including Una Mattina (2004) and Divenire (2006), achieved mainstream success, and his live performances at venues like the Royal Albert Hall solidified his global renown. Einaudi’s music has continued to evolve with ambitious projects like Seven Days Walking (2019), and his environmental activism is reflected in works like Elegy for the Arctic (2016). His music has also featured prominently in films such as Nomadland and The Father, and he received the Opus Klassik award for his 2022 album Underwater. Einaudi’s Underwater tour sold out at major venues worldwide, and he will release his new album, The Summer Portraits, on January 31, 2025.
